St.ART the biggest street art festival in India in on and the old grey walls of the urban villages in Delhi are now turned into ideal combination of expansive canvases & vibrant communities for the artist, with whom they can share the joy and wonder of their art.
60 artists from all over the world have convened here for exhibitions, workshops, film screenings, a graffiti-jam and to transform dozens of the city’s cement walls into works of art.
The festival has begun from 18th Jan and will continue till 20th Feb, and will end with The Indian Art Fair, which opened for the public this Friday.
Among the 60 artists boarded in the festival 40 are from India and the other 20 from the rest of the world. About 30 of the artists are working on the wall project and the rest are engaged into other activities.
Hanif Kureshi, the 30-year-old creative director of the festival in an interview said, “Imagine one guy from Taiwan and another from Germany working on a wall in Shahpur Jat. We want to get people to believe in it, while also pushing the street art scene to do something that will put Delhi on the map.”
I am posting few pictures of the festival and its event, hope you like them. For more info visit the official website of the St.ART festival, www.st-artdelhi.org!
